Nadezhda Repina
Russian singer and dramatic actress, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater (1823-41). She performed at the grand opening of the Bolshoi Theater building in 1825 as Calliope in A. Alyabyev and Verstovsky’s The Triumph of the Muses. Repina participated in the first productions on the Russian stage of operas: The White Lady by Boildieu (1828, the part of Anna), Marschner’s Vampire (1831, the part of Malvina), Bellini’s The Pirate (1837, the part of Imogenet), Marschner’s Hans Heiling ( Anne’s part), Aubert’s Black Domino (Angela’s part), Adana’s The Postman from Longjumeau (Madeleine’s part). She was the first performer of the part of Nadezhda in Verstovsky’s opera Askold’s Grave (1). She also sang in vaudeville. She left the stage in 1835.
