While studying at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, she performed for the first time at Op. stage in Tsereteli’s entreprise (1905, part of Gioconda in the op. Ponchielli of the same name, together with Ruffo in the part of Barnabas). Later she performed with success at the Mariinsky Theater (debut 1906, the part of Valentina in the Huguenots), in Kyiv, at the Bolshoi Theater (1908-18, 1925-26). One of the best Spanish Wagnerian repertoire. (parts of Ortrud in Lohengrin, Brunnhilde in Valkyrie, Kundry in Parsifal, Isolde). Other roles include Maria in Mazeppa, Liza, Margarita in the oratorio The Death of Faust by Berlioz. In 1911-14 gastr. abroad (France, England, Austria). Ortrud was sung by Nikish. She performed in the cities of Russia. From 1924 he worked as a teacher (1935-55 at the Moscow Conservatory).
