Polish singer (tenor). From 1924 he performed on the opera stage in Lvov. Since 1926 at the Vienna Opera (debut as Cavaradossi). He successfully performed the part of Kalaf there. In 1927 he sang at Covent Garden. He made his debut in 1928 at La Scala (Calaf). He sang in 1938-42 at the Metropolitan Opera (debut as Rudolf). From 1944 he lived in the USA. Toured in Poland (1958). He also performed on Broadway in operettas with his wife, singer and movie star M. Eggert.
