Trumpets for beginners

If you are considering learning to play the trumpet, it is very important to get your own instrument as soon as possible. The number of available models on the market may seem quite overwhelming, but the specific requirements for the instrument and the determination of financial possibilities will reduce the area of search and simplify it significantly.

It might seem that all trumpets are the same and differ only in price, but the top layer of the instrument is extremely important. According to many trumpet players, lacquered trumpets have a darker sound (which is advisable in the case of trombones), and silver trumpets have lighter ones. At this point, you should ask yourself what kind of music you want to play on a trumpet. A lighter tone is more suitable for solo and orchestral music, and a darker tone for jazz. It should also be taken into account that in cheaper models of varnished trumpets, their varnish may start to crumble and fall off. Of course, this is often a matter of chance, but silver-plated trumpets do not have this problem and look “fresh” for much longer.

We must remember not to pay attention only to the financial issue when buying an instrument. Brands such as Ever Play, Stagg and Roy Benson produce very cheap trumpets, which can be purchased for as little as PLN 600 with a case. It quickly turns out that these are instruments of poor quality and durability, the paint wears off quickly and the pistons run inefficiently. If you do not have a lot of money, it is definitely better to buy an older trumpet, used and already played.

Let’s take a look at the models of trumpets for beginner instrumentalists, recommended for their quality of workmanship and at relatively low prices.
