This type of activity, and one might even say the profession of DJing, is becoming increasingly popular among young people. If just a couple of decades ago this type of activity was new and little-known, today many young people dream of seeing themselves behind a DJ console, and from time to time they think about how they can become a DJ.

Who is a DJ?

The term is borrowed from the English language, where the abbreviation stands for disc jockey and indicates a person who plays various musical compositions for a specific audience, giving the finished tracks special shades of sound using special equipment.

A DJ console can be equipped with a wide variety of musical equipment, from conventional turntables and vinyl installations to synthesizers and laptops with special programs for processing and creating sound. Of course, the person behind this remote control must not only have an excellent command of all the skills of operating such equipment, but also create his own unique style that attracts the audience and distinguishes him from others.

Few people think that the DJ profession has several directions, and each has its own characteristics. How to become a DJ? First of all, you need to decide on the place of further work. It can be:

To work on the radio, in addition to professional skills and the ability to handle special studio equipment, a DJ must have a pleasant voice, a relaxed and friendly manner of communication, a sense of humor, and the ability to competently express thoughts within a given time frame. Therefore, only a literate, educated, very responsible person with public speaking skills can become a radio DJ. The appearance and style of clothing in this case does not matter much, with the exception of Internet radio with the possibility of video broadcasts.

Mobile DJ

Many people usually imagine themselves in this role. Working in different places, at parties, holding events, holidays, meeting interesting people, always being on the move and in the spotlight – this is what attracts young people to work as a mobile DJ. In addition, a specialist in this field, who has an excellent reputation and fame, can work not only for any company, but also for himself (subject to the availability of the necessary equipment).

Mobile DJing is distinguished by its work in any conditions and places, including in open areas. At the same time, the performance has no specific framework and criteria, giving complete freedom of action and improvisation, becoming unique and simply inimitable, which fascinates the audience.

How to become a DJ?

So far, DJing is not a profession that is taught in universities; the only official specialty close to this is sound engineering. Some of the necessary skills can be obtained at radio and television institutes. There are many DJing schools – they are not only effective in terms of gaining skills, but also help the beginner in promoting his name, since the training is accompanied by performances in clubs.
