Filippo Galli
From 1801 he performed in Naples as a tenor. The first performance in the bass part took place in 1 at the world premiere of Rossini’s opera Le Fortunate Deception in Venice. Since then, he has repeatedly sung at the premieres of Rossini’s compositions. Among them are The Italian Woman in Algiers (1812, Venice, Mustafa’s part), The Turk in Italy (1813, La Scala, Selim’s part), The Thieving Magpie (1813, La Scala, Fernando’s part), Mohammed II (1817, Naples, title role), Semiramide (1820, Venice, Assyrian part). Participated in the Italian premiere of the opera “That’s what everyone does” (1823). He sang the part of Henry VIII in the world premiere of Donizetti’s Anna Boleyn in Milan (1807). He performed in Paris, London, etc. He taught at the Paris Conservatory (1830-1842).
