Author of several operas. The creator of a new system of musical education, built on the unity of music and movement, implemented his ideas in rhythmic-plastic interpretations of various musical works (including the 1912 production of the opera Orpheus and Eurydice by Gluck in Hellerau near Dresden). The ideas of Jacques-Dalcroze were very popular in Russia, where Volkonsky acted as their propagandist. They also influenced the development of ballet and musical theater in general.
