Brother of Jan de Reschke. Debut 1876 (Paris, part of Amonasro). He sang at the Théâtre Italiane in Paris until 1885. From 1879 he also performed at La Scala (here in 1881 he sang the part of Fiesco in the premiere of Verdi’s new edition of Simon Boccanegra). Since 1880 in Covent Garden. Since 1891 soloist of the Metropolitan Opera (debut as Pater Lorenzo in Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet). He toured in St. Petersburg, Warsaw and other cities. Among the parties are Mephistopheles, Leporello, Alvise in Ponchielli’s Gioconda, Basilio, Hans Sachs in Wagner’s Nuremberg Meistersingers, Hagen in The Death of the Gods, etc.
