Carlo Rizzi

He began performing in 1982. The production of Falstaff in Parma (1985) brought him success. Since 1990 in Covent Garden (Cinderella, Journey to Reims by Rossini). Since 1992 he has been chief conductor of the Welsh National Opera (among the best productions are Turandot, Elektra, Tosca, Eugene Onegin, etc.). Since 1993 at the Metropolitan Opera (The Barber of Seville, etc.). Recordings include Faust (soloists by Hadley, Remy, Gazdia, etc.), La Traviata (soloists by Gruberova, Schikoff, Zancanaro, both Teldec).
