Anton Bonachich

Started out as a baritone. Debut 1901 (Kharkov, part of the Demon). In 1905-21 soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre. Member of the 1st post. op. Rachmaninoff “The Miserly Knight” and “Francesca da Rimini” (1906), new ed. op. Dargomyzhsky “The Stone Guest” (1906, part of Don Juan), sang the part of the Astrologer in a remarkable post. op. The Golden Cockerel (1909, dir. Suk, dir. Shtaker, artist K. Korovin). Repeatedly performed together with Chaliapin, incl. in the Moscow premiere of Khovanshchina (1912, Golitsyn’s part), where Chaliapin participated not only as a singer (Dosifey’s part), but also as a director. Other parties include Jose, Radamès, Lohengrin, Herman. gastr. Abroad. From 1921 he was engaged in pedagogical and directing activities.
