Since 1972 soloist of the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theatre. In the 1988/89 season, he performed the parts of Dositheus, the Grand Inquisitor in Verdi’s Don Carlos at the Vienna Opera (conducted by Abbado). In 1994 he performed as Boris Godunov at the Salzburg Easter Festival. In 1995 Kocherga performed the part of Sparafucile in Rigoletto at the Orange Festival. Among the parties are also Mephistopheles, Philip II, Leporello, Basilio. Among the recordings of Boris Godunov (conductor Abbado, Sony), Kochubey in Mazepa (conductor Yarvi, Deutsche Grammophon).
