Vladimir Tropp’s playing is distinguished by a special refined intellectualism, artistic taste, masterly possession of piano resources and the ability to hear well-known music in a new way.

“Going to his concert, you know that you will become a witness to a deeply personal reading of a musical work, filled at the same time with a lively, amazing content” (M. Drozdova, “Musical Life”, 1985).

The artist’s concert repertoire is dominated by works of a romantic nature – works by Schumann, Chopin, Liszt. This pianist is famous for his interpretations of Russian music of the turn of the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries – works by Scriabin, Rachmaninov, Medtner.

Vladimir Tropp graduated from the GMPI. Gnesins, after which he began active teaching work and is now one of the leading professors of the Academy. Gnesins and head of the department of special piano. He is also a professor at the Moscow State Conservatory.

While still a student, he performed with solo programs, but he began regular concert activity in 1970, after winning the title of laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition. J. Enescu in Bucharest. From that moment on, the artist constantly gives solo concerts, plays with the orchestra, and performs with chamber ensembles. The pianist tours and also gives master classes in many countries of the world: Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Ireland, USA, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and others, is a member of the jury of international competitions.

Vladimir Tropp is one of the creators of films about Rachmaninoff on television in Russia and the UK; hosted the TV program “Rakhmaninov’s Path”. Author of numerous radio programs about outstanding performers of the XNUMXth century (Radio Orpheus, Radio Russia).
