Born in 1941 in the village of Vladimirovna, Donetsk region. He studied at the Moscow Choral School with A.V. Sveshnikov and N.I. Demyanov (graduated in 1960). In 1965 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied composition with S. S. Bogatyrev and T. N. Khrennikov. Professor at the Moscow Conservatory. Member of the Board of the Union of Composers of Moscow, founder of the creative association of composers and choreographers of Moscow “Sodruzhestvo”.

He is the author of 13 ballets (including Danko, 1974; Dubrovsky, 1976-1982; My Light, Maria, 1985; Legend of the Ural Foothills, 1986; Polesskaya Sorceress, 1988; Revelation “(” Prayer for a Messenger “), 1990; “Pushkin … Natalie … Dantes …”, 1999), 14 concerts, vocal-symphonic and choral works (including oratorios “Princess Olga” (“Rus on Blood”) , 1970, and Light of the Silent Stars, 1999; oratorio annals “The Holy Dnieper”; choral concerts “Praise to the Master” and “Choral Painting” (both – 1978), “Liturgy of John Chrysostom”, 1994; “Easter chants of Ancient Russia” , 1997, etc.), works for an orchestra of folk instruments (including “Bogatyr Russia: poems based on paintings by V.
