Sergey Kravchenko is one of the brightest representatives of modern violin art. Born in Odessa. Graduated from the Odessa Musical School named after P.S. Stolyarsky and the Moscow Conservatory (class of Professor L. Kogan). Laureate of prestigious international competitions: N. Paganini in Genoa (Italy, 1969), M. Long – J. Thibaut in Paris (France, 1971), International String Quartet Competition in Liege (Belgium, 1972).

In 1969, active concert activity began, and in 1972, teaching. S. Kravchenko was an assistant to Professor L. Kogan and at the same time led his own class. Currently, he is the head of the violin department at the Moscow Conservatory. He gives concerts in major cities of Russia and in many countries of the world: Poland, Germany, France, Greece, Serbia and Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Finland, USA, South and North Korea, Japan, China, Brazil, Taiwan, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Israel, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Australia. Many of his students are laureates of international competitions: V. Igolinsky, V. Mullova, A. Lukirsky, S. Krylov, I. Gaysin, A. Kagan, I. Ko, N. Sachenko, E. Stembolsky, O. Shurgot, N. Kozhukhar and others.

S. Kravchenko is a member of the jury of many well-known competitions: the International Competition named after P.I. Tchaikovsky (1998, 2002, 2007), named after Oistrakh, named after Brahms, named after Enescu, named after Lysenko and others. Conducts master classes in the CIS countries and abroad (Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, Yugoslavia, Japan, Taiwan, North and South Korea, Australia, USA). The musician has recorded a number of performances on television, radio, released gramophone records and CDs, and also published author’s books on the method of playing the violin.
