Marco Armiliato
Marco Armigliato is one of the outstanding opera conductors of the current generation, a Grammy Award winner. World recognition came to Armigliato after his debut at the San Francisco Opera with G. Puccini’s La bohème and participation in concerts of the great Luciano Pavarotti.
In 1995, the conductor made his debut in Italy at the Venetian theater La Fenice with G. Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, and in 1996 he made his debut in Vienna at the Metropolitan Opera with the opera Andre Chenier by U. Giordano.
Armigliato has performed on the stages of the world’s best opera houses: in Bavaria, Berlin, Hamburg, Paris, Zurich, Barcelona, Rome, Genoa, at the Royal Theaters in London, Turin and Madrid. He has also conducted performances in Mexico, South America, Japan and China.
Maestro Armigliato fruitfully collaborates with the New York Metropolitan Opera, where he staged productions of Il trovatore, Rigoletto, Aida and Stiffelio by G. Verdi, The Sly Man by E. Wolff-Ferrari, Cyrano de Bergerac F Alfano, “La Bohemes”, “Turandot”, “Madama Butterfly” and “Swallows” by G. Puccini, “Daughters of the Regiment” and “Lucia di Lammermoor” by G. Donizetti; in San Francisco he conducted the operas La bohème, Madama Butterfly, Turandot, La Traviata, Tosca, Aida, The Favorite, Il Trovatore and Rural Honor.
The Italian conductor constantly and fruitfully collaborates with the Vienna State Opera, where Puccini’s Tosca, Turandot and Manon Lescaut, U. Giordano’s Fedora and Andre Chenier, The Barber of Seville by G. Rossini, The Favorite by G. Donizetti, La Traviata, Stiffelio, Falstaff and Don Carlos by G. Verdi, Rural Honor by P. Mascagni, Pagliacci by R. Leoncavallo and Carmen by G. Bizet . He recently made his debut at the Paris State Opera with Othello.
