Originally from Ukraine. From the age of 18 he lived in Paris. Debut 1922 (Toulouse). In 1924-48 he was a soloist of the “De la Monnaie” in Brussels (debut as “Werther” in the opera of the same name). He also sang at the Grand Opera (in 1931 he performed the parts of Lohengrin, Faust) and other theaters. In 1933 he performed in The Queen of Spades (Herman’s part) in the performances of the Russian Opera in Paris (the Châtelet theater, M. Kashuk’s entreprise, director Chaliapin). In 1953-59 he was director of the opera house in Brussels. taught. Among the best roles are Herman, Lohengrin, De Grieux in Manon and others.
