Russian singer (bass-baritone) and director. He studied singing abroad, where he made his debut in 1860 (Navarre, the part of Assur in Rossini’s Semiramide). After 2 seasons in Tbilisi, in 1862 Kondratiev became a soloist at the Mariinsky Theater (debut as Ruslan), where he performed until 1900. He was the first performer of a number of roles in Serov’s operas. The repertoire also includes the parts of Mephistopheles, Stolnik in Moniuszko’s Pebble, Telramund in Lohengrin.
