Debut 1988 (Ekaterinburg, part of Tatiana). Since 1992 at the Mariinsky Theatre. In the same year she sang the part of Renata in Prokofiev’s Fiery Angel at Covent Garden. She performed the same part in 1993 at La Scala. In 1993 she sang the part of Fevronia at the Mariinsky Theatre. Among the best roles in her repertoire: Tatiana (1993, Covent Garden; 1996, Opera Bastille), Tosca (1995, Covent Garden), Cio-Cio-san (1995, La Scala). Other roles include Lisa, Olga in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Maid of Pskov, and Leonora in Il trovatore. Recordings include Maria in Mazepa (conductor Järvi, Deutsche Grammophon), Yaroslavna in Prince Igor (conductor Gergiev, Philips).
