Debut 1984 (St. Louis, Tamino part). Since 1985 in Europe. He sang the part of Don Ottavio in Aix-en-Provence (1985), La Scala (1986). In 1987, at the Glyndebourne Festival, he sang the part of Ferrando in “That’s What Everyone Does”. In 1988 he sang Belfiore in Rossini’s Journey to Reims at the Vienna Opera. In 1989 he performed in Chicago. In the same year he made his debut at Covent Garden (Lindor in Rossini’s The Italian Girl in Algiers). Here in 1994 he sang together with Georgiou in “La Traviata” (Alfred’s part). The play directed by Solti was a huge success and was recorded in the same year (Decca). In 1989 he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera (Almaviva). In 1996 he performed the role of Lensky in the Opera-Bastille. Recordings include the part of Ernesto in the opera Don Pasquale by Donizetti (conductor Abbado, RCA Victor) and others.
