Alexander Sladkovsky is Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honored Artist of Russia, Ambassador of the Universiade 2013. Graduated from the Moscow Conservatory. Tchaikovsky and the St. Petersburg Conservatory. Rimsky-Korsakov. As a conductor, he made his debut at the State Opera and Ballet Theater of the St. Petersburg Conservatory with Mozart’s opera “Everybody Does It That Way”. In 1997-2003 Alexander Sladkovsky – conductor of the symphony orchestra of the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg, in 2001-2003 – chief conductor of the State Opera and Ballet Theater of the St. Symphony Orchestra New Russia, since July 2004 – Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan.
During this time, orchestras conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky took part in major international and federal projects and festivals: “Musical Olympus”, “Petersburg Musical Spring”, Yuri Temirkanov’s festival “Square of Arts”, the All-Russian Competition of Opera Singers of Irina Bogacheva, Youth Academies of Russia of the Alexander Foundation Tchaikovsky, Rodion Shchedrin. Self-portrait, Young Euro Classic (Berlin), Days of Culture of St. Petersburg in Almaty with the participation of opera and ballet stars of the Mariinsky Theatre, music and theater festival Honorary Citizens of St. Petersburg – the anniversary of the city, XII and XIII Easter Festival, Crescendo, Schleswig- HolsteinMusikFestival, Kunstfest-Weimar, Budapest Spring Festival 2006, V festival of world symphony orchestras.
In her concerts she performs the music of contemporary composers: A. Petrov, R. Shchedrin, G. Kancheli, S. Gubaidulina, A. Rybnikov, S. Slonimsky, B. Tishchenko, Yu. Krasavin, R. Ledenev, as well as compositions by young Moscow composers , St. Petersburg, Kazan and Yekaterinburg. He repeatedly performed the works of A. Tchaikovsky, and in March 2003 he conducted the world premiere of his 3rd symphony in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
Alexander Sladkovsky performed in concerts with famous Russian and foreign soloists. Among them are Yu. Bashmet, D. Matsuev, V. Tretyakov, D. Sitkovetsky, D. Geringas, R. Alanya, A. Rudin, A. Knyazev, A. Menezis, M. Caballe, L. Kazarnovskaya, B. Berezovsky, N. Lugansky, E. Mechetina, S. Roldugin, A. Baeva.
As a guest conductor, he collaborates with the orchestra of the State Bolshoi Theater of Russia, the State Academic Orchestra of Russia, the Honored Collective of Russia, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra. P.I. Tchaikovsky, St. Petersburg Camerata, with the Symphonica-Siciliana Orchestra (Italy), with the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, with the Lower Saxony Symphony Orchestra, with the Moscow, Novosibirsk and Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestras, with the Budapest National Opera Symphony Orchestra.
In May 2001 at the Hermitage Theater he conducted a concert given in honor of the visit of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, and also conducted concerts for Presidents V. Putin, George W. Bush, B. Clinton and M. Gorbachev. By decree of the President of the Russian Federation, he was awarded the medal “In memory of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.” In 2003 he was nominated for the Golden Sofit Award as the best conductor of the year. Laureate of the III International Competition of Conductors named after S. S. Prokofiev.
A. Sladkovsky is the founder and artistic director of six music festivals in Kazan: “Rakhlin Seasons”, “White Lilac”, “Kazan Autumn”, “Concordia”, “Denis Matsuev with Friends”, “Creative Discovery”. Concerts of the first festival “Denis Matsuev with friends” were shown on Medici.tv. In 2012, the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky recorded the Anthology of Music of Tatarstan Composers and the album “Enlightenment” (Symphony “Manfred” by P.I. Tchaikovsky and symphonic poem “Isle of the Dead” by S.V. RCA Red Seal Records. Since 2013 he has been an artist of Sony Music Entertainment Russia.
