Louis Quilico
Canadian singer (baritone). Debut 1952 (New York, part of Germont). He made his debut in Europe in 1959 (Spoleto), significant success accompanied Chilico in 1962 at Covent Garden (the title role in Rigoletto). In 1966 he was a participant in the world premiere of Milhaud’s opera The Crime Mother based on the final part of Beaumarchais’s trilogy of Figaro (Geneva). Since 1971 he sang at the Metropolitan Opera. We also note the performance of the part of Falstaff in Frankfurt am Main (1985). Other roles of Golo in Pelléas et Mélisande include Debussy, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor and a number of others. In 1992 he performed the part of Bartolo at the Grand Opera together with his son D. Chiliko (Figaro).
