Estonian Soviet singer (baritone), teacher. People’s Artist of the USSR (1954). Laureate of two Stalin Prizes of the second degree (1950, 1952).
Before the war he performed in Vienna, Kassel. In 1944-88 (with a break) he was a soloist of the Estonian Opera House in Tallinn. Among the parties are Boris Godunov, Eugene Onegin, Figaro, Rigoletto and many others. Conducted teaching work (among the students Georg Ots).
