1) The sequence of sounds or basic. music steps. or sound system, arranged in ascending or descending order.

2) Stepwise sequence of sounds of the mode, arranged in ascending or descending order; usually written in ascending order within one or more. octaves

3) A sequence of harmony, overtones (overtones), arranged in ascending order (the so-called natural scale).

4) The sequence of sounds available for performance on a certain instrument or a certain singing voice; usually written in ascending order.

5) The sound composition of the music. works, their parts, melodies, themes, i.e. all the sounds found in them, written out in a stepwise order (usually ascending). See Temperament, Scale, Scale, Range.
