Sigrid Onegin
Debut on the opera stage 1912 (Stuttgart, part of Carmen). She sang at the world premiere of the opera Ariadne auf Naxos by R. Strauss (Dryad part). In the same year, she performed the role of Carmen here in a performance with the participation of Caruso. In 1919-22 she performed in Munich. In 1922-26 at the Metropolitan Opera (debut as Amneris). She sang at the Stadtoper Berlin (1926-31). Among the parties on this stage are Orpheus in Orpheus and Eurydice by Gluck (1927, directed by Walter), Lady Macbeth (1931, dir. Ebert), Ulrika in Un ballo in maschera (1932). She performed with success at the Bayreuth Festival, sang the parts of Frikki and Waltraut in “The Valkyrie”, as well as a number of others (1933-34).
