Debut 1913 (Parma, part of Leonora in Verdi’s Oberto). She sang in various theaters in Italy. In 1916 she made her debut at La Scala (Aida). From 1916 she performed for many years in Chicago. She sang under Toscanini at the world premiere of Boito’s Nero (1924, Milan). 1st performer of the title role in “Turandot” (1926, Milan, conducted by Toscanini). She successfully performed with Lauri-Volpi in Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots in 1933 (Arena di Verona Festival, Valentina part). Among the best parts are Aida, Tosca, Norma. She performed at Covent Garden (1914, 1933). From 1937 she taught in Chicago.
