Polystylistics (from the Greek. polus – many and style) – a term that has arisen recently in owls. musicological literature, but did not receive universal recognition, tk. it does not clearly reflect the essence of those phenomena of music, to which it is usually referred. The definition of P. means an intentional combination in one work decomp. stylistic phenomena, stylistic heterogeneity resulting from the application of a number of technical. techniques (one of the special cases is collage). However, such a technique can with c.-l. arts. purpose to be used in works belonging to different stylistic. directions, depending on the dominant features of the composer’s work.
