He studied singing in Florence under the direction of L. Ronzi and at the Paris Conservatory. Participated in the world premieres of Verdi’s operas Simon Boccanegra (1857, part of Fiesco), Un ballo in maschera (1859, part of Renato) and others. He sang at La Scala for many years. In 1877 he sang the part of Figaro in the historical production of The Barber of Seville (among the soloists were A. Patti, Nicolini, and others). In 1882 he sang the title role in the posthumous premiere of Donizetti’s The Duke of Alba. From 1891 until the end of his life he lived in Moscow. He was a professor of singing at the Moscow Conservatory. Among others, M. I. and H. H. Figner took lessons from Giraldoni.
