Kyra Wayne
English singer, originally from Russia. She emigrated with her parents in 1924 and sang in a Russian choir. She performed with the conductor Fistulari in 1942 in a touring troupe (sang the part of Parasi in Mussorgsky’s Sorochinsky Fair). In the post-war years, Vane performed in Cardiff, London, on the stages of Italy (Brescia, Rome, etc.). In Barcelona she sang the title role in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia (1949).
Other parts include Leonora in Verdi’s The Force of Destiny, Santuzza in Rural Honor, and others. At the Florentine Musical May festival, she sang the part of Donna Anna in Dargomyzhsky’s The Stone Guest (1952). She performed the part of Tosca in Zagreb, Rome (1956). She also performed in Brussels (Tosca, Tatiana). Left the stage in 1962.
