Igor Golovatenko graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in the class of opera and symphony conducting (class of Professor G. N. Rozhdestvensky) and the Academy of Choral Art. V. S. Popov (class of Professor D. Yu. Vdovin). Participated in master classes and concerts of the VII, VIII and IX International Schools of Vocal Art (2006-2008).

In 2006 he made his debut in Fr. Delius (baritone part) with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia conducted by Vladimir Spivakov (first performance in Russia).

Since 2007 he has been the leading soloist of the Moscow Novaya Opera Theater named after M. E. V. Kolobova, where he made his debut as Marullo (Rigoletto by G. Verdi). Performs the parts of Onegin (Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin), Robert (Tchaikovsky’s Iolanthe), Germont (Verdi’s La Traviata), Count di Luna (Verdi’s Il trovatore), Belcore (Donizetti’s Love Potion), Amonasro (Aida “Verdi, concert performance), Alfio (“Country Honor” Mascagni, concert performance), Figaro (“The Barber of Seville” Rossini), etc.

Since 2010 he has been a guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, where he made his debut as Falk (Die Fledermaus by I. Strauss). Since 2014 he has been a soloist of the theater troupe. Performs the roles of Germont (Verdi’s La Traviata), Rodrigo (Verdi’s Don Carlos), Lionel (Tchaikovsky’s Maid of Orleans, concert performance), Marseille (Puccini’s La Boheme).

In 2008 he won the 2011st Prize at the XNUMXth International Vocal and Piano Duet Competition “Three Centuries of Classical Romance” in St. Petersburg (in a duet with Valeria Prokofieva). In XNUMX he received the XNUMXnd prize at the international competition “Competizione dell’opera”, which was held for the first time on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre.

He also collaborates with the BBC Orchestra in London.

In 2015, he was nominated for the national theater award “Golden Mask” for his performance as Rodrigo in the play “Don Carlos” by the Bolshoi Theater of Russia.
