Austrian singer (tenor). Performs since 1964 (Graz, Trabuco part in Verdi’s “Force of Destiny”). Since 1965 he has been a soloist of the Vienna Opera. In 1970-76 he performed regularly at the Bayreuth Festival (Helmsman in The Flying Dutchman, Mime in Der Ring des Nibelungen, David in The Nuremberg Mastersingers). Performed at the Salzburg Festival. The singer achieved great success in the performance of buffoon roles. Among the parts of Pedrillo in Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio, Monostatos in The Magic Flute, Valzacchi in The Rosenkavalier, Bardolph in Falstaff, the repertoire of the journal also includes parts in operas by modern composers (Beriot, Einema, etc.). In 3 he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera (parts of Mime and Logue in the Rhine Gold). Recorded these parts with Boulez (1981, Philips). Other recordings include the part of Pedrillo (dir.
