Debut 1940 (Amsterdam). She sang from 1951 in Covent Garden (Aida, Elizabeth of Valois in the op. Don Carlos, etc.). She performed at the Bayreuth Festival (1954-56, as Elisabeth in Tannhäuser, Gutruna in The Death of the Gods, Eve in Wagner’s Nuremberg Meistersingers). She sang at the Glyndebourne Festival from 1953 (the part of Leonora in Fidelio, etc.). Among the recordings, we note the part of Martha in d’Albert’s “Valley” (conducted by R. Moralt, Philips).
