Debut 1857 (Paris). He performed in Italy, at Covent Garden (since 1866), the Grand Opera. Toured in Russia. He was a constant partner of A. Patti (in 1886 he married her). Participated with the singer and L. Giraldoni in an outstanding production of The Barber of Seville at La Scala (1877, part of Almaviva). Among the parties are Alfred, Radamès, Faust, Lohengrin, the title role in Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet.
