Epilogue (Greek epilogos, lit. – afterword) in music – a section of the final character, as a rule, in musical stage genres. Represents a conclusion. a scene summarizing the musical-figurative content of the work. after the end of the story development, for example. in the operas “Don Giovanni” by Mozart, “Ivan Susanin” by Glinka, “The Rake’s Adventures” by Stravinsky. In “Ivan Susanin” E. – a large mass scene, including the trio of Antonida, Sobinin and Vanya, mourning the death of Susanin (middle part), and the majestic choir “Glory” (final).
