Graduated from the theoretical and composing department of the State Musical College named after. Gnesins, where she simultaneously studied vocals in the class of Margarita Landa. In 1997 she graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory. P.I. Tchaikovsky (class of Prof. Klara Kadinskaya). Since 1998 she has been a soloist of the Moscow Novaya Opera Theatre. E.V. Kolobov. In 2007 she made her debut at the Bolshoi Theater as Liza in a new production of The Queen of Spades by P.I. Tchaikovsky under the direction of M. Pletnev.

Elena Popovskaya tours abroad – in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Israel. She performed the role of Renata in the opera “The Fiery Angel” by S.S. Prokofiev at the Theater De la Monnaie (Brussels, 2006, conductor Kazushi Ono, director Richard Jones), the part of Lisa in P.I. Tchaikovsky at the Latvian National Opera (Riga, 2007). In 2008, E. Popovskaya became the first Russian singer invited to perform the role of Turandot at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago (Italy). The singer’s repertoire also includes the parts of Maria (“Mazepa” by P.I. Tchaikovsky), Tosca (“Tosca” by G. Puccini), the soprano part in the Fourteenth Symphony by D.D. Shostakovich.

In 2010, in Italy, the singer performed the part of Elektra in the opera of the same name by R. Strauss (conductor Gustav Kuhn), Manon (Manon Lesko by G. Puccini) at the Theater. Pavarotti in Modena. In the summer of the same year, E. Popovskaya performed the role of Turandot on the stage of the Arena di Verona in a new production of Puccini’s opera of the same name directed by F. Zeffirelli.
