Since 1970 he has been chief conductor at the Moscow Musical Theatre. Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko, where he staged the operas Carmen, Katerina Izmailova, Aleko and others. Since 1976 he has been a conductor of the Moscow Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Participated in a number of productions at the Vienna Opera (The Queen of Spades, 1982; Boris Godunov, 1983). In the 1990s works abroad. He performed with the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra. Among the recordings is “Boris Godunov” (in the title part of Haugland, Kontrapunkt).
