Carlo Cossutta |

Italian singer (tenor). Debut 1958 (Buenos Aires, part of Cassio in Verdi’s Otello). Since 1964 in Covent Garden (debut in the part of the Duke, in the same place he performed the parts of Turiddu in Rural Honor, Manrico, the title role in Don Carlos). In 1973 he made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Pollio in Norma. He sang at La Scala (toured in 1974 with a theater in Moscow, where he performed the part of Radamès). He sang at the Grand Opera (1975 as Manrico; 1979 as Ismael in Verdi’s Nabucco). Recordings include Othello (dir. Solti, Decca), Macduff in Macbeth (dir. Böhm, Foyer).
