Recognition came to Anna Shafazhinskaya after her performance at the fifth Luciano Pavarotti International Vocal Competition: she received an invitation to perform the part of Tosca in Puccini’s opera of the same name, where Luciano Pavarotti became her stage partner.

Anna Shafazhinskaya is a winner of fourteen National and International vocal competitions. Her awards include the Best Debut Artist Award at NYCO. Maria Callas Award nominee (Dallas).

Anna Shafazhinskaya graduated from the Academy of Music. Gnesins (Moscow) and currently occupies a leading place among the dramatic sopranos of the younger generation. Her debut at the Vienna Opera as Turandot was called “sensational” (Rodney Milnes, The Times, Opera) and her performance as Princess Turandot at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden “was reminiscent of Maria Callas” (” Times, Matthew Connolly).

“Her singing has the highest skill and authority, which few achieve” (Opera magazine, London).

She collaborated with such conductors as Carlo Rizzi, Marcelo Viotti, Francesco Corti, Andrei Boreiko, Sergei Ponkin, Alexander Vedernikov, Muhai Tang.

Stage partners were Luciano Pavarotti, Giuseppe Giacomini, Vladimir Galuzin, Larisa Dyadkova, Vladimir Chernov, Vasily Gerello, Denis O’Neill, Franco Farina, Marcelo Giordani.
