Alexey Vladimirovich Lundin |

Alexey Lundin was born in 1971 into a family of musicians. He studied at the Gnessin Moscow Secondary Special Music School and the Moscow State P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of N. G. Beshkina). During his studies he won the First Prize of the youth competition Concertino-Prague (1987), as a trio he won the competition of chamber ensembles in Trapani (Italy, 1993) and the winner of the competition in Weimar (Germany, 1996). In 1995, he continued his studies as an assistant trainee at the Moscow Conservatory: as a soloist in the class of Professor M. L. Yashvili as a chamber performer in the class of Professor A. Z. Bonduryansky. He also studied the string quartet under the guidance of Professor R. R. Davidyan, who played an important role in the development of the violinist.

In 1998, the Mozart Quartet was created, which included Alexei Lundin (first violin), Irina Pavlikina (second violin), Anton Kulapov (viola) and Vyacheslav Marinyuk (cello). In 2001, the ensemble was awarded the First Prize at the D. D. Shostakovich String Quartet Competition.

Since 1998, Alexei Lundin has been playing in the Moscow Virtuosos orchestra conducted by Vladimir Spivakov, since 1999 he has been the first violinist and soloist of the ensemble. During his time with the orchestra, Alexei Lundin has performed with many outstanding musicians from around the world. With maestro Spivakov, double concertos by J. S. Bach, A. Vivaldi, as well as various chamber works were performed, CDs and DVDs were recorded. Accompanied by the Moscow Virtuosos, the violinist repeatedly performed solo in concerts by J. S. Bach, W. A. ​​Mozart, J. Haydn, A. Vivaldi, A. Schnittke under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov, Saulius Sondeckis, Vladimir Simkin, Justus Franz, Teodor Currentzis .

Alexei Lundin’s stage partners were Eliso Virsaladze, Mikhail Lidsky, Christian Zacharias, Katya Skanavi, Alexander Gindin, Manana Doidzhashvili, Alexander Bonduryansky, Zakhar Bron, Pierre Amoyal, Alexei Utkin, Julian Milkis, Evgeny Petrov, Pavel Berman, Natalia Zagorinskaya, Dominique de Villencourt, Felix Korobov, Andrey Korobeinikov, Sergey Nakaryakov and other famous musicians. Since 2010, Aleksey Lundin has been the organizer and artistic director of the International Classical Music Festival in Salacgrīva (Latvia).

The violinist pays great attention to the music of modern composers, performs works by G. Kancheli, K. Khachaturian, E. Denisov, Ksh. Penderetsky, V. Krivtsov, D. Krivitsky, R. Ledenev, A. Tchaikovsky, V. Tarnopolsky, V. Torchinsky, A. Mushtukis and others. Composer Y. Butsko dedicated his fourth violin concerto to the artist. In 2011, G. Galynin’s chamber music was recorded by order of the English company Frankinstein.

Alexey Lundin was awarded the Triumph Youth Prize (2000) and the title of Honored Artist of Russia (2009).

He teaches at the Moscow Conservatory and the Gnessin Moscow Secondary Special Music School.
